Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do I need planning permission for my new driveway?

Specific rules apply for householders wanting to pave over their front gardens. You will not need planning permission if a new or replacement driveway of any size uses permeable (or porous) surfacing which allows water to drain through, such as gravel, permeable concrete block paving or porous asphalt, or if the rainwater is directed to a lawn or border to drain naturally.

If the surface to be covered is more than five square metres planning permission will be needed for laying traditional, impermeable driveways that do not provide for the water to run to a permeable area.

2. When am I able to walk/park on my new driveway?

Once your driveway has been completed we recommend 48 hours before driving, parking or placing any plant pots. However, foot traffic is permitted after 2-3 hours.

3. How long will it take to install?

As every job is different it is difficult to give an exact timescale – on average it should take between 5-7 days to complete.

4. How long will my driveway last?

Block paving laid properly on a sub base is stronger than concrete itself. You should expect permanence and expect it to last a lifetime. Maintenance may be required in the future, the same as any other aspect of your property, such are cleaning, re-sanding and sealing

5. Does the choice of colour and pattern affect the price?

No matter what colour or pattern you choose, the price remains the same.

6. How many colours and patterns are available?

There are a large variety of colours, patterns and designs available. We are happy to discuss all the options available to you and we offer Free no obligation quotes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

7. Can my driveway be installed all-year round?
